Bolstad-Snyder Beach Boardwalk

Travel & Leisure Magazine named the Long Beach boardwalk as one of the top eleven in the nation. The Today Show featured the Long Beach boardwalk as the most unique. And we have to agree. The boardwalk sits just outside the reach of the mighty Pacific and stretches for almost half a mile through the rolling dunes. It’s only a short walk from most downtown Long Beach activities and is a popular attraction for visitors and locals alike.

Cape Disappointment State Park

Cape Disappointment is one of Washington’s favorite state parks. With two functioning lighthouses, the remains of Fort Canby, old growth forests, and rugged stretches of beach, it is a northwest adventure for the memory books. And did we mention the views? Culbertson Park

Culbertson Park is the biggest park in-town with kids play equipment, tennis court, basketball court, softball fields, a skate park and sheltered picnic area with 6 tables and 3 barbeque grills. The baseball fields are Culbertson Field, Tinker Field and Rutherford Field, all with backstops, some with dugouts. Moveable soccer goals are near for soccer games. The park can easily be reached by foot from downtown Long Beach.

Lewis & Clark Discovery Trail

This 8.2-mile trail from the center of Ilwaco along Long Beach provides a nice outing for those wanting to experience the area on foot. The route takes you through forested hills and features nice views of the ocean from the Beard's Hollow Overlook, and then beach and dune walking to the town of Long Beach.

Willapa National Wildlife Refuge

Willapa National Wildlife Refuge consists of over 17,000 acres of tidelands, temperate rainforest, ocean beaches, and small streams. It also includes several rare remnants of old growth coastal cedar forest. Preserving habitat for spawning wild salmon, hundreds of thousands of migrating shorebirds and waterfowl, and threatened species such as the western snowy plover and marbled murrelet, the refuge is the place to see what the Pacific Northwest looked like over 100 years ago.
